Ring operation mode.

Defaults to SqPoll for thread-per-core workloads (zero-syscall submission). SqPoll requires CAP_SYS_NICE or root; ring creation will fail with EPERM on unprivileged processes — callers should fall back to Standard.

Variants§

Standard

Standard mode with interrupt-based completions.

§

SqPoll

SQPOLL mode with kernel polling thread (no syscalls under load). Requires CAP_SYS_NICE or root privileges.

§

IoPoll

IOPOLL mode for NVMe devices (polls completions from device). Cannot be used with socket operations.

§

SqPollIoPoll

Combined SQPOLL + IOPOLL for maximum performance on NVMe.
